Modern Farmhouse Newport Kitchen

newport, Rhode Island
This Newport home renovation transformed a segmented, outdated interior into a bright and cohesive space designed for modern living. A reconfigured kitchen, opened staircase, rebuilt entry, and renovated bathrooms improved flow and functionality. Custom millwork, refined finishes, abundant natural light, and a dedicated coffee and sitting area enhanced the home’s character, comfort, and everyday usability.

Project Description:

7. This Newport home required more than surface-level updates – the existing layout felt segmented, outdated, and lacked the functionality expected for modern living. The kitchen was closed off and inefficient, the staircase and entry disrupted flow, and several areas throughout the home were underutilized or without clear purpose. The bathrooms, while functional, did not reflect the character or potential of the home.

Our approach focused on improving both structure and flow. In the kitchen, we reworked the layout, introduced a larger mulled window to bring in natural light, and installed new cabinetry with custom millwork that extends into the dining area for a more cohesive look. The staircase and entry were opened and rebuilt, transforming a restrictive area into a defining architectural feature that improves circulation and connects the home more intentionally.

Each bathroom was fully reimagined with a balance of durability and refined design. Updated layouts, waterproofed shower systems, custom niches, and tailored tile installations create spaces that feel both functional and elevated. The primary bath, in particular, was redesigned to improve privacy, storage, and overall usability.

An underutilized area was transformed into a dedicated coffee and sitting space, adding a thoughtful lifestyle element to the home. Paired with refinished flooring, fresh paint, and detailed trim work throughout, the result is a cohesive interior transformation that enhances both the function and character of this Newport property.
