This kitchen renovation focused on reworking a compact, outdated layout into a more functional and refined space while respecting the character of the home’s historic setting. The existing kitchen lacked efficiency, had limited usable space, and did not reflect the level of finish the homeowners were looking to achieve.

Through strategic demolition and structural adjustments – including the removal of an exterior window and reconfiguration of wall space – we improved the overall layout and functionality of the kitchen. Updated electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems brought the space up to modern standards, while new recessed and under-cabinet lighting enhanced both usability and ambiance.

The design centered around clean, timeless materials, including custom cabinetry and soapstone countertops, paired with detailed trim work and a cohesive paint finish. Careful attention was given to maintaining the home’s architectural integrity, particularly with the installation of a new window and exterior door aligned with historic district considerations.

The result is a thoughtfully updated kitchen that maximizes functionality within its footprint while delivering a refined, classic aesthetic – blending modern performance with the character of the home.
